Business Networking Skills
This evening will provide participants with the insight and skills to be more effective business networkers, face to face and online.
Who will benefit
It is ideal if you attend, or would like to attend, conferences, seminars, social events and other networking gatherings where it is essential you 'mix and mingle' and make good contacts. This introductory session will be of particularly benefit if you are uncomfortable in informal business settings and yet you need to be able to talk articulately about your business and get yourself known.
Key learning points

· To provide greater understanding of the dynamics of communication specific to
networking.
· To help people become more confident and assured when 'working' a room.
· To give people improved influencing skills especially with people who are experts
and in positions of authority.
· To enable people to sell themselves and promote their company.
· Identify and manage your profile using online social networking sites.
· Use effective follow-up to maintain active contacts and connections.
· Selecting the correct networking groups, clubs and events.
· Creating your own personal network.

Special guests include Tan Tran
Tan Tran is a 36 year old serial entrepreneur; running several businesses specialising in property investments, property finance and venture capital.
He is also a member of the exclusive Concept Business Group and is a recognised member of the International Who's Who for his business contribution to the Anglo-American trade relationship.
Tan's business career started at an early age when he took responsibilities for the commercial side of his father's medical practice whilst Tan was still studying Biochemistry and Genetics at university.
Jumping away from medicine, Tan went into the financial services industry as a wealth manager for a small City based consultancy firm specialising in wealth management for the medical profession. He then progressed into investment banking and joined HSBC Private Clients where he enjoyed working with several international sporting and show biz clients. After a successful career with HSBC, Tan was head-hunted to a Dax-30 listed German investment boutique where he became their youngest Head of Property Finance, specialising in structured property finance and had clients afar as Canada, the Middle East and Australia.
Tan's career also led him to Washington DC where in 2005 he and some close friends established a Foreign Exchange dealing platform and within two years the business was merged with a global player in the sector. The whole business to date is now part of Travelex Global.
After some travelling, Tan came back to London and with true entrepreneurial spirit he started up several businesses in the personal loans and mortgage sector, successfully selling these outfits to large well know financial institutions.
He now split most of his time between Fontis Capital, a specialist property finance and investment company, Callidus Financial Wealth Management, a Financial Services Authority regulated consultancy based in Moorgate, City of London and Red-to-Black.co.uk, a national debt management company with a 60 person strong call centre based in Manchester, specialising in helping people and small businesses with their debt problems.
With strong believes in getting out and staying out of the daily rat race and the power of residual income streams from businesses, Tan also manages his own personal property portfolio.
In his spare time, Tan concentrate on his passion with renewable energy and carbon footprint offsetting as well as privately trading derivatives and FX. To relax he enjoy motorsports , the odd game of golf and plays a mean game of squash and tennis.
His goal for 2010 is to start teaching small businesses and individuals how to survive in this economic climate, find and secure finance and start a recession proof property portfolio.
